The lessons learned in the martial arts are a primary reason for my business success, The lessons taught me to follow instruction, push myself beyond expectation, achieve tasks that are unpleasant and realize “it is not always the talent, but what is in the heart” that leads to success. The martial arts have taught me to be successful over the longest of odds, overcome the hardest obstacles and that I can’t is not an option.

Teaching and Experience
Began studying the martial arts in 1963 in Shotokan – Japanese Karate Association under Sensei Maynard Minor.
Over the past 27 years I have trained with and been a student of Shihan Gary Gione, the late Senior Sei Tai Gung Jimmy Wing Woo and the late Sei Tai Gung James Ibrao.
I earned and was awarded the rank of Sifu Ngonlung Silver Dragon 8th Degree Black Belt on August 15, 2015 – Jun bao Wu Shu Kung Fu Tai Chi International by Grandmaster Sei Tai Gung James Ibrao (Ed Parker’s first Shodan Black Belt) and Grandmaster Senior Sei Tai Gung Jimmy Wing Woo. I was nominated and placed on the Jun Bao Wu Shu Kung Fu Tai Chi Board on April 2016.
Awarded rank of Shichidan – 7th Degree BlackBelt – Tracy Kenpo Karate by Shihan Gary Gione – Elite Defensive Tactics – December 7, 2025. Certified by the Tracy International Kenpo Karate Association (TIKKA) Senior Board.

Beyond The Mat
Roy Abramowitz is a Certified Public Accountant, since 1978, trained by the Big Four Public Accounting Firms and started his own firm in 1987. The firm is a member of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) and is quality reviewed by the National Peer Review Committee of the AICPA.
Other activities include member of the Executive Board and Audit Committee of the Connecticut Yankee Council Boy Scouts of America. Served as the Finance Director, Audit Committee Chair, Executive Committee and Board member of the Greenwich Connecticut Boy Scouts of America for 18 years. Served as the Finance Director, Audit Committee Chair, Executive Committee and Board member of the Starlight-Starbright Children’s Association for 25 years.
